Discipline is the backbone of a student's success and the foundation of any great institution. At St. John’s Matric Hr. Sec. School, we uphold a culture of respect, responsibility, and right behavior, creating an atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.

Core Conduct Expectations for Students

Language Policy

  • English is the medium of instruction and students are encouraged to speak in English on campus to improve fluency.

School Diary

  • Students must bring their diary daily. Parents are expected to check it for updates, homework, or remarks.

Language & Behaviour

  • Politeness, courteous speech, and respectful behavior toward teachers, staff, and fellow students are mandatory.
  • Use of foul language, misbehavior, or insubordination will not be tolerated.

Respect for School Property

  • Scribbling on walls, damaging furniture, or defacing school property is strictly prohibited.
  • Students causing damage will bear the cost and may face disciplinary action.

Homework & Assignments

  • Students are expected to complete and submit all assignments and homework on time.

Full Uniform Compliance

  • Students are required to wear clean, complete, and prescribed uniforms on all working days and official functions.

No Valuable Items

  • Wearing gold ornaments, expensive gadgets, or carrying large sums of money is strictly banned.
  • The school is not responsible for any such losses.

Attendance & Leave

  • Regular attendance is compulsory.
  • Prior permission must be taken for any absence.
  • A medical certificate must be submitted in case of sick leave.

Punctuality is a Priority

  • Students must arrive on time every day and be present at the morning assembly.
  • Late arrivals without a valid reason may face disciplinary consequences.

Cleanliness & Personal Grooming

  • Students must maintain personal hygiene.
  • Boys should have neatly trimmed hair and girls should keep hair tied properly.
  • Shoes must be polished, and uniforms should be neat.

Prohibited Activities

  • Bringing mobile phones, sharp objects, or any objectionable items.
  • Bullying or harassment of any kind.
  • Loitering in corridors during class hours.
  • Leaving campus without permission.

Consequences of Misconduct

Disciplinary action may include:

  • Warning and written remarks
  • Suspension
  • Issue of Transfer Certificate (T.C.) in severe cases

Parental Role in Discipline

  • Parents are advised to regularly monitor their child’s academic and behavioral progress.
  • Any concerns or feedback must be routed through the school office or via proper appointments with the Correspondent, Principal, or Administrative Officer.
  • Direct interaction with teachers during school hours is not allowed without permission.
