To ensure smooth functioning, safety, and discipline, St. John’s Matric Hr. Sec. School maintains a set of common rules and regulations that all students and parents must adhere to. These guidelines are aimed at fostering an environment of respect, order, and academic excellence.

General Conduct Rules for Students

Care for Belongings

  • Students are solely responsible for their belongings including books, stationery, lunch boxes, and water bottles.
  • Costly jewelry, fancy accessories, and mobile phones are strictly banned.

Dress Code & Hygiene

  • Students must wear clean, complete, and prescribed uniforms on all school days and functions.
  • Personal grooming is essential — clean nails, tidy hair, and polished shoes are expected.

Bring the School Diary Daily

  • Every student must carry the school diary to record homework, notes, and communication between teachers and parents.

Campus Responsibility

  • Maintain cleanliness and discipline inside classrooms and on school grounds.
  • Use of waste bins is mandatory; littering is punishable.

Respect for School Property

  • Writing on walls, desks, or damaging furniture is strictly prohibited.
  • Any damage caused will result in a fine and disciplinary action.

Academic & Attendance Guidelines

Fee Payment Policy

  • Fees once paid are non-refundable.
  • Term fees are due in July, October, and January. Late payment may result in denial of exam entry.

Examination Absenteeism

  • Students absent during examinations without valid reasons will be considered detained.
  • No re-examinations will be conducted unless approved by the Principal.

Minimum Attendance Requirement

  • A student must have at least 85% attendance to be eligible for annual exams and promotion.

Discipline & Parental Access

Disciplinary Action

  • Misconduct, disrespect toward staff, or repeated indiscipline may result in suspension or issuance of Transfer Certificate (T.C.).

Library Books & Property

  • Lost or damaged library books must be replaced or paid for (twice their value if lost).

Student Dismissal During School Hours

Students may be sent home if they:

  • Don’t wear full uniform
  • Fail to bring books or the diary
  • Ignore repeated warnings
  • Fail to produce parental signatures on remarks or leave notes

Classroom Access

  • Parents/guardians are not allowed to enter classrooms or speak directly to teachers during school hours.
  • All communication must be routed through the school office.

Parental Cooperation

Involvement Encouraged

  • We encourage parents to support the school by ensuring regular attendance, timely homework, and ethical behavior.

Complaint Procedure

  • Any grievances should be reported to the Principal or Correspondent directly. Classroom intervention is not allowed.
