Rules & Regulations
At St. John’s Matric Hr. Sec. School, our rules and regulations are carefully framed to instill discipline, ensure safety, and promote academic excellence. All students, parents, and staff are expected to follow these rules in both letter and spirit to maintain a respectful and productive learning environment.
General Rules for Students
Punctual Attendance
- Students must arrive at school on time and attend the morning prayer and assembly without fail.
Daily Essentials
- Every student must carry the school handbook/diary and ensure it is maintained properly.
Proper Uniform
- The prescribed school uniform must be worn neatly and completely every day. Personal grooming is equally important.
Cleanliness of Study Materials
- Textbooks and notebooks must be neatly covered, well-maintained, and kept in proper order.
Responsibility for Belongings
- Students must take care of their books, bags, stationery, and other personal items.
- The school is not responsible for lost items.
Attendance & Leave Policy
Regular Attendance is Mandatory
- Irregular attendance negatively affects performance and may lead to disciplinary action.
Leave Procedure
- Leave must be informed in writing, signed by parents, and approved by the Principal in advance.
Medical Absences
- In case of illness or infectious diseases, students should stay home and submit a medical certificate upon return.
No Re-examination Policy
- If a student is absent during exams/tests without prior approval, no re-test will be conducted.
Academic Performance
Minimum Marks Required for Promotion
- Students must score at least 40 marks in each subject to be promoted to the next class.
Examination Eligibility
- At least 85% attendance is required to appear for annual exams and to qualify for promotion.
Disciplinary Guidelines
Prohibited Items
- Students are strictly prohibited from bringing expensive items, gold jewelry, mobile phones, etc.
Misconduct Consequences
- Indiscipline, improper behavior, or repeated academic negligence will lead to strict disciplinary action, including suspension or issue of Transfer Certificate (T.C.).
Parental Involvement
- Parents are encouraged to support the school in enforcing discipline and helping their children follow school norms.
Parental Guidelines
Progress Reports
- Report cards are issued after each term. Parents must sign and return them within 3 days.
Fee Payment
- Term fees are to be paid in July, October, and January. Delays may result in fines or restriction from exams.
Communication with School
- Parents must contact the Principal or school office for queries and avoid visiting classrooms during school hours.
